AN OLD WEDDING DRESS AND A PAIR OF SCISSORS

I cut up my old, ugly wedding dress and made this blessing dress for Isabel.
Unfortuately, it did not fit her.
This is some of the detail of the bodice.
and the bottom of the dress.
I had about 14 buttons on my wedding dress,
and was able to salvage 3 to use.
I made a new, sweet slip. Awww.
It was fun to make and I only had to buy some new lace for the bottom of the dress.
Hopefully, I will have some more grand-daughters.

Dixie, it is beautiful!! I showed Anne and she immediately said she would love it if I would do that for her when she has a baby. So a good idea - and you might have to help me! But we are years away from that! Your dress turned out so gorgeous!

I agree that it is so beautiful and such a sweet sentimental thing to do. I may have to try it one of these days if I ever have a granddaughter. Good job.
